In our article today we will talk about the letter Tae .

As I mentioned earlier, I will share with you today my knowledge of the letter"ت" .
Harf al tae = حرف التاء = T = ت .
To be precise, the letter Tae is pronounced as T in English exactly !!
But there is another letter in Arabic.
It has similare pronunciation and is not exesting in English language.. so that when we write it in English, we express it or translate it into the letter "T" also .
Example:
in the word Tetouan = تطوان = ت.ط.و.ا.ن
Which is the name of the city where I live in Morocco.
As you notice, we have a word in which T is repeated twice, when you write in English .. But when you write in Arabic, we find that these are two separate letters are not similar !!
The first is the letter tae = ت and the second is the letter tae = ط.
==>The letter "ت" is pronounced as "T" in English
==>The letter "ط" is pronounced as "T" in French .
The letter "ت" or harf al tae is writed on the following form in the first and middle and the last of the words : تتت
Examples:
Crocodile = Timsah = تمساح = ت.م.س.ا.ح
Tarikh = تاريخ = ت.ا.ر.ي.خ
==>The word "Tarikh" which means in English two things: History and Date.
So that the meaning of the word will vary depending on the context in which it is presented.
For example if we said :
Tarikh alyawm = تاريخ اليوم = ت.ا.ر.ي.خ-ا.ل.ي.و.م
It will be intended as "the date of today"
==>اليوم = al yawm = today .
But if we said :
Tarikh almaghreb = تاريخ المغرب = ت.ا.ر.ي.خ-ا.ل.م.غ.ر.ب
It will be intended as "the history of morocco"
==> Al maghreb = المغرب = morocco .
Harf al tae in the middle of the words:
Notebook = Diftar = دفتر = د.ف.ت.ر
Key = Miftah = مفتاح = م.ف.ت.ا.ح
Library or bookstore = Maktabatun = مكتبة = م.ك.ت.ب.ة
We write harf al tae in the last of words in two ways :
" ت " Outstretched tae = tae mamduda = التاء الممدودة
And " ة " Bonded tae = tae marbuta = التاء المربوطة .
Examples :
Whale = Houtun = حوت = ح.و.ت
Fish = samakatun = سمكة = س.م.ك.ة
NB :
The bonded tae = tae marbuta = ة
can be pronounced and can be dispensed with.
Depending on the context in the sentence.
So if we said :
Library or bookstore = Maktabatun = مكتبة = م.ك.ت.ب.ة
So here we speak of any library in general and do not define (built for the unknown),And we pronunce a tight bonded tae , like " tun " in " Maktabatun" .
But when adding the identifier tool in the Arabic language which is "ال" and the corresponding in English is " the " then we will said :
Almaktaba = المكتبة = ا.ل.م.ك.ت.ب.ة = the bookstore or the library .
Which means we know which library or bookstore we are talking about specifically.
And we don't speal the bonded tae .
